National Vehicle Leasing Association (NVLA) Elects Tarry Shebesta, President
Cincinnati, OH - June 12, 2007. At the annual conference of the National Vehicle Leasing Association (NVLA) held in Las Vegas, Tarry Shebesta, President of Automobile Consumer Services, Inc. (ACS), was elected NVLA President for the 2007/2008 fiscal year. This will be the first time in NVLA's 39 year history that an Ohio member has become President.
Mr. Shebesta was considered for the position due to his numerous years of experience in the vehicle leasing industry, particularly in the fast changing technology area. Over the last few years, Mr. Shebesta has been involved with many aspects of directing the NVLA, including holding various executive board positions. He is currently the Chairperson of the Electronic Communications Committee and Chairperson of the 2007 NVLA Conference Committee. He also serves as a leader in other industry organizations and earned his certification as a Leasing Consultant from the Ohio Chapter of the NVLA.
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Shebesta laid out his plans and ideas for the coming year. "Two important priorities are to grow the membership and expand our lease education programs." noted Shebesta.
Other areas of attention include enhancing fleet relationships with auto manufacturers and addressing the many legal issues that affect the leasing industry.
Some new initiatives include the expansion of NVLA Chapters into Indiana, Illinois, Florida, Minnesota, Arizona, Northern California and the Northwest region of the United States. Round table workshops are also in the plan as a way to provide members with a platform to discuss ideas and learn from industry experts on a variety of subject matters, including marketing, accounting practices, legal and compliance, and the Internet.
Shebesta plans to form an advisory board made up of past NVLA Presidents, experienced NVLA members, and industry experts to provide valuable input on new ideas for 2008. "I look forward to a productive year as we celebrate NVLA's 40th anniversary during next year's conference at the Camelback Inn Resort in Scottsdale Arizona." says Shebesta.
